Formula for LLB:
Merit = (MOM/TM) × 20 + (MOF/TM) × 50 + (LOM/TM) × 30
Formula for Other Undergraduate Programs:
Merit = (MOM/TM) × 30 + (MOF/TM) × 70
Where:
MOM = Marks obtained in Matric or equivalent
MOF = Marks obtained in HSSC (Part-I) or equivalent
LOM = LAT obtained Marks (for LLB only)
TM = Total Marks in the relevant Examination
Note: The merit is determined on the basis of academic record with 30% weightage to Matriculation marks and 70% weightage to Intermediate Part-I marks. For LLB, additional weightage is given to LAT scores.
Quaid-i-Azam University (QAU) is one of Pakistan most prestigious higher education institutions, known for its rigorous academic standards and competitive admission process. To help prospective students estimate their chances of admission, the QAU Merit Calculator has been developed. This tool simplifies the complex merit calculation process, allowing students to input their academic scores and receive an instant merit score based on QAU’s official formula.
QAU determines merit based on a weighted formula that considers academic performance in Matric (SSC) and Intermediate Part-I (HSSC). The exact calculation varies slightly depending on the program:
Merit = (MOM / TM) × 20 + (MOF / TM) × 50 + (LOM / TM) × 30
Merit = (MOM / TM) × 30 + (MOF / TM) × 70
Where:
MOM = Marks obtained in Matric (or equivalent)
MOF = Marks obtained in HSSC Part-I (or equivalent)
LOM = LAT (Law Admission Test) obtained marks (for LLB only)
TM = Total marks in the relevant examination
